DSE witnesses price correction

Dhaka stocks went down by 28 points as investors sold off stocks to book profits on Wednesday.  
 
DSEX, the broad index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) declined 28 points or 0.67 percent to end at 4,127 points while the DGEN lost 23 points or 0.53 percent to close at 4,228 points.
 
The DS30 Index also plunged 9 points or 0.60 percent to finish the trading session at 1,487 points.
 
Of the total issuers traded 70 advanced, 176 declined while 26 remained unchanged.
 
None of the major sectors gained today. NBFIs lost 0.86 percent the most followed by Banks 0.47 percent and Power 0.43 percent.  Pharmaceuticals and Telecommunications lost 0.40 percent and 0.11 percent respectively.
 
 
The total turnover value at DSE stood at Tk 2.9 billion, going down by 16 percent from the previous trading session.
 

United Airways, down by 2.70 percent was the most traded stock of the day with a total turnover of Tk 219.9 million.
 
Standard Ceramic, up by 9.27 percent topped the gainers chart, following its half yearly earning declaration.
 
Rahim Textile which lost 8.81 percent value was the worst loser of the session.
